Machines in Motion
Nothing built by hand loves standing still. Machines in Motion celebrates a century and more of getting there faster: brass lamps and buttoned leather, steam and smoke, gravel stages, bullet trains, afterburners, and the sharp-edged shapes still waiting for their roads. Each machine is caught in a storm of torn paper and paint, collage and mosaic, as if speed itself had shaken the picture apart. Line them up and they tell one story: we never once lifted off the throttle.
